Community Gatherings
The Foundation creates opportunities for neighbors to come together through traditions that foster connection, celebrate the seasons, and strengthen community life. Whether gathering around a Friendsgiving table, competing in the annual Chili Cook-Off, or participating in other community-centered celebrations, these experiences cultivate a sense of belonging and reinforce the relationships that make Carlton Landing unique.
These gatherings are intentionally designed to be welcoming, intergenerational, and rooted in the town’s Culture of Place—creating meaningful opportunities for residents to connect, contribute, and build lasting traditions together.

Chili Cook-Off
The Community Chili Cook-Off brings neighbors together around one of life’s simplest traditions—sharing a meal. Residents prepare their favorite recipes, friendly competition fills the air, and families gather to enjoy an evening of great food, conversation, and community.
More than a cooking competition, the Chili Cook-Off celebrates hospitality, encourages participation, and creates opportunities for neighbors to connect across generations. By bringing the community together around the table, the event strengthens relationships and reinforces the welcoming spirit that defines Carlton Landing.

Bonfire Building Day
Bonfire Building Day reconnects the community with one of Carlton Landing’s most beloved holiday traditions. What began as a neighborhood has grown into a destination event. This gathering brings the tradition full circle by inviting neighbors to become part of the process once again.
Led by the tradition’s founder, Clay Chapman, participants learn the story behind the iconic bonfire, lend a hand in its construction, and help preserve a cherished piece of Carlton Landing’s heritage. The day concludes with Friendsgiving, where the community gathers around the table to celebrate gratitude, fellowship, and the traditions that continue to bring neighbors together.

Friendsgiving
Friendsgiving celebrates the season of gratitude by bringing the Carlton Landing community together around a shared table. This potluck-style gathering invites neighbors, friends, and visitors to contribute a favorite dish, enjoy live music, gather around the firepits, and create lasting memories in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
Rooted in hospitality and community, Friendsgiving encourages participation, strengthens relationships, and reminds us that the greatest traditions are often the simplest—sharing a meal, meaningful conversation, and time together.
